As casually as it is referred to, there is much more to energy than is generally understood by those using the term in circles of wellness, pop culture and in clever memes on social media.
It makes sense that many are returning to old ways in response to an increasingly complex and chaotic world. Forbears around the globe developed profoundly sophisticated systems for energetic understanding and use. The reintegration of ancestral practices contributes to a revival of energetic awareness, culture and ourselves.
After all, energy is the most fundamental component of what we understand as our reality! Modern science, however late to the game, has confirmed this with the development of Quantum Physics beginning in the 1920’s. Energy has become an accepted issue for consideration in many areas of medicine, psychology and spirituality. There is no denying the existence of energy. But what is it? And what does it have to do with us as individuals?
Energy is the very essence of who we are. It is our life force that we share in an infinitely connected universe. This life force is the center of creation and of our individualized creativity. It is the ever-unfolding truth continually revealing itself as all of existence. Energy is the motivating force behind all phenomena in the material world, and much more beyond the reach of our common senses. This truth resides in the depth of our soul and simultaneously past galaxies that beyond our comprehension.
Energy is the animator of a living body and the very ghost of the dead. We all encompass our own personal energy body, just as we each inhabit a physical body. This ethereal body is expressed in form, gesture, sound, movement and all other personal expression. It is the very essence of who we are and essentially what we are. Our energetic system needs care to maintain health and vitality, just as the body and mind. Energy itself is life giving. In fact, our energy is our most precious commodity.
